Services for Student Athletes
As a student-athlete, you are a student first. Finding the balance between studying for exams and practicing for the big game may not be so easy. There are various academic resources to help student-athletes find their balance and success in both realms of their college experience.
Academic Services
From a writing center to a math lab, student-athletes are encouraged to utilize these academic resources to maintain their grades.
Study Hall, Tips and Learning Strategies
Student-athletes are required to complete a certain amount of study hall hours to improve and maintain their academic standing. We also provide academic support tips, tools and strategies to assist you in your academic courses and to help you adjust to the many transitions during the undergraduate experience.
Sports Medicine
DSU’s Department of Sports Medicine provides quality care for all student-athletes through education, risk management and prevention of athletic injury. We provide clinical evaluation, diagnosis and referrals, as well as effective immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation and reconditioning of injuries to ensure proper recovery and return to play.
Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC)
The DSU SAAC is made up of student-athletes who come together to provide insight on the student-athlete experience. SAAC also offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect student-athletes’ lives on campus.
